Prof. Dr. Somashekhar S. P. is the Chairman of Surgical Oncology, Head of Department and Consultant of Surgical and Gyneacological Oncology  and Robotic surgery in Manipal Hospital. He is the Director for the HIPEC & PIPAC Programme, Gyneacological Oncology Fellowship, Manipal University Breast Oncoplasty Surgery Fellowship and Robotic Surgery Fellowship Programme at Manipal University. Prof. Somashekhar is the recipient of Gujarat University Gold Medal and record holder, and also the recipient of the prestigious Dr D. D. Patel Gold Medal for excellency in Oncosurgery. He is the President of the Association of Breast Surgeons of India, Editor in Chief for Indian Journal of Gynec Oncology and Editor of Annals of Breast Diseases Journal. He is the author of several textbooks on Oncology and has over 300 publications in International and National Journals. He is the Hon. Secretary of the Indian Society of Peritoneal Surface Malignancy (ISPSM), the Council Member of International Society Study of Peritoneum and Pleural (ISSPP) and the EC Council Member of Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International (PSOGI).
