Prof. Tay Sun Kuie
Professor Tay is a senior consultant Obstetrician and gynecologist at Singapore General Hospital. He obtained MBBS and MD from the University of London in 1981 and 1989 respectively. He was admitted to the fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS) in 1989 and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists London (FRCOG) in 1998. He also took a fellowship of the Ministry of Health, Singapore for a special interest in immunotherapy of gynecological cancer at the MD Anderson Medical Centre and Institute of Tumors, Houston, Texas, USA in 1993. He was conferred Clinical Associate Professor by the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2000 and, later, Clinical Professor, at Duke-NUS Medical School.
He has authored three books: “Cervical cancer: Its Causes and Prevention”, “Gynecology Clinics Illustrated “, and “Hysterectomy for Benign Conditions”. He has also contributed chapters to many text books in gynecology. Professor Tay has a carrier-long research interest and clinical expertise in human papillomavirus infection and women’s cancer. He received Hamilton & Bailey Prize in Surgery 1987, National Science Award 1996 and 16th Benjamin Sheares Memorial Lectureship 1997, and Excellent Publication Award 1999.
